For a quarter of a century, from the depression through World War II, Korea, and the Fabulous Fifties, Vernon Kilns manufactured commemorative plates, mugs, demitasse cups, ashtrays, spoon holder, etc., all of which, in retropect, reveal as much about American social history as they do about geography. Due to special-order requests from cities, states, colleges, churches, societies, and organizations of all kinds, both the pride and the prejudices of America are on view, as places, personalities, and politics from the 30s to the 60s are revisited in this considerable body of souvenirs.
