JUXTAPOZ 8TH ANNIVERSARY ART SHOW
Checklist
Track 16 Gallery, in collaboration with Juxtapoz art magazine, is pleased to announce its tribute exhibition celebrating the eighth anniversary of Juxtapoz. Paintings, drawings, and photographs by more than seventy-five artists whose work has been published in Juxtapoz will be featured. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, October 26, from 6 to 9 P.M. The exhibition will run through November 16, 2002. Gallery hours are 11:00 to 6:00 Tuesday through Saturday.
Juxtapoz art magazine, published bimonthly by High Speed Productions, Inc., was founded by painter Robert Williams in 1994. Since its inception, Juxtapoz has been credited as the premier source of information about lowbrow and underground art and culture. The magazine features articles about the best emerging and established artists working with unique subject matter and content. With the same goal in mind, Track 16 Gallery has set a precedent for exhibiting cutting-edge material and supporting many of the artists who have appeared in the pages of Juxtapoz. This once-in-a-lifetime event celebrates the continued vitality of the underground art movement.
Among the artists included in the exhibition are: Georganne Deen, Don Ed Hardy, Frank Kozik, Victor Moscoso, Mark Mothersbaugh, Niagara, Manuel Ocampo, Gary Panter, Kenny Scharf, Todd Schorr, RK Sloane, and Robert Williams.
In continuation of our Track 16 Nights series, we will present a special screening of Sandow Birk, Sean Meredith, and Paul Zaloom's mockumentary, In Smog and Thunder: The Great War of the Californias. It will be shown on Friday, November 15, at 8:00 P.M. Admission to this event is $5. Please RSVP as seating is limited. For additional information about the film, please see www.insmogandthunder.com.
