ALAN RATH: CHIPPED

Also through the month of October we will be exhibiting a selection of Alan Rath sculptures. Incorporating mechanical equipment such as LCDs, speakers and video monitors, Rath creates objects that reflect himself and the world around us. They tickle. They sniff. They contemplate themselves. Man and nature are technically engaged in the depths of his work.

Rath received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1982. His work is in such major collections as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), the Walker Art Center (Minneapolis, MN), the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Hara Museum (Tokyo). Rath lives in California.
