DAVID KUNTZ:
FOR THE LOVE OF ART

April 21 - May 7, 2011

Opening reception on Saturday, April 23 from 6–9pm

Track 16 Gallery is pleased to present For the Love of Art, an exhibition of work by David Kuntz. The exhibition will run through April 21 - May 7, 2011 with an opening reception on Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 6–9 P.M. Regular gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday from noon to 6 P.M.

David Kuntz's inspiration -- aside from Pauline, his muse and wife of sixty-five years -- has been the art the couple has seen on their many art-centric European travels, as well as the works depicted in the myriad art books David has collected in his decades as an early and passionate flea marketeer. During and following his career as a physician in Los Angeles, artist/inventor/scientist Kuntz created a wide variety of works in a range of mediums, many of them homages to post-impressionists including Giacometti, Calder, Matisse and Modigliani. Yet each of these works are recognizable as Kuntz's own, infused with his deft sense of humor and passionate embrace of science, art and literature, rendering these works as unique and engaging as the man himself.
